Ashlu Valley/Mine
Start location: Squamish
Ride Type: Out and Back
Date Ridden: May 2020
Distance: 71 km
Elevation: 654 m
Surface: Mix road gravel
Why do this ride: Ashlu Valley and Mine.
Difficulty: Relatively straightforward until the makeshift bridge (pictured). Expect the road beyond the makeshift bridge to get more overgrown with time (also pictured) due to lack of traffic.
Mine: The mill building is in a clearing off to the left and a bit difficult to spot unless you know where to look. There is reportedly also an underground portal further north on other side of creek, but creek was flowing too hard to cross.
Other notes: Started this ride in Squamish for extra distance. Squamish Valley Rd is paved but very nice. If you just wanted to do the Ashlu Valley gravel, you could start beyond the bridge for A-Main FSR turnoff (lots of parking options) but it makes the ride much shorter.
