Cloudburst Mountain
Start location: Squamish
Ride Type: Loop
Date Ridden: July 2020
Distance: 70 km
Elevation: 1,161 m
Surface: Mix gravel and road
Why do this ride: Views over Squamish Valley, towards Garibaldi (Black Tusk) and Tantalus Range; Cheakamus Canyon.
Difficulty: The first part of climb out of Squamish Valley (B-200 spur) is hard with some limited hike a bike needed on a steep, loose rock section. A bit of searching to stay on right route higher up. The connection between west and east sides near summit (former cut block) has reportedly gotten harder since I rode it and is now likely also hike a bike.
Other notes: This route may be easier done counterclockwise, with gradual uphill and then a gnarly downhill rather than gnarly uphill and smooth downhill as I did it. It depends on your preference.
