Why do this ride: Excellent scenery along Kootenay River, Chief Isadore Trail

Difficulty: Longish to straightforward.

Other notes:  Ice cream at gas station east of Fort Steele, where route turns south, is excellent. The short-cut approach from Chief Isadore to Fort Steele (wanting to avoid highway riding) goes briefly over private property which only became apparent having to cross a gate at the far end. An alternative route should be explored.
