Why do this ride: Rocky Mountain scenery, mountain goat, Bull River falls

Difficulty: A long but straightforward day in the saddle

Other notes:  Its is possible to avoid the highway on approach to Elko via Burton Lake Road but I was mesmerized by an awesome downhill and could not withdraw from it. The upshot was a beautiful ice cream stop just before entering Elko. The mountain goats are regulars on west side of Hartley Pass at creek that smells like sulphur (impossible to miss). It should also be possible to do an upper Bull River loop and end up in Elkford but alas not enough time in Fernie to do everything.
