Why do this ride: Because you think gnarly hike a bike uphills and getting whiplashed by greenery on downhills are rewarding.
Difficulty: Hard. Except to push bike up final single track section of Paleface Pass and a gnarly downhill on a closed road through a recovering cut block. And then there is a really long highway ride back if doing this loop, likely with headwind.
Other notes: Not sure how long the descent from Paleface Pass to Skagit Valley will remain passable. For a much shorter ride, one you do an out and pack to Paleface Pass summit.
