Hayward Lake
Start location: Pitt Meadows
Ride Type: Loop
Date Ridden: September 2024
Distance: 90 km (from Pitt River bridge)
Elevation: 997 m (from Pitt River bridge)
Surface: Mix road and gravel
Why do this ride: Because you want to explore some of the toughest gravel the Maple Ridge area has on offer. A much harder version of the shorter Webster's Corner ride.
Difficulty: Hard
Other notes: It says Hayward Lake rail trail but expect a lot of shouldering of bikes. On the approach, the Thornhill trails are proper MTB. On the return, there is some rough BC Hydro trail and then the Blue Mountain FSR degrades to a creek bed. All solid good fun.
