Other notes:  Highway 6 is some of the smoothest tarmac I have ever ridden. The rail trail apparently goes through prime grizzly habitat with seasonal closures. The rail trail goes a bit further northeast from Nelson down to a beach at the lake which we rode separately (not shown on these pages).
